IJsselmeer Swimming Marathon Records

In the run-up to the IJsselmeer Swimming Marathon 2023, we look back on the 2022 edition.
The IJsselmeer Swimming Marathon of 2022 has been one of the fastest editions. Thanks to this edition, we welcome no less than 4 new names in the top 10 of the all-time ranking.

Both the numbers 1 and 2, Lars Bottelier and Jan Hercog, were faster than the old record time of Marcel Schouten.

In the ladies race of 2022, there was an exciting battle between Elea Linka and Madisyn Armstrong. The German winner of 2021 was just one second ahead of Australian Madisyn, making Elea the fastest lady of the IJsselmeer Swimming Marathon. She took the record from Etta van der Weijden. The fastest women’s time is now 4:30:52. Etta swam 4:33:08 in 1996, leading the overall rankings until 2003.
