Participation conditions

The IJsselmeer swimmingmarathon from Stavoren to Medemblik is one of the most beautiful and heaviest open water swimming competition in the world.

Next to the distance of 22 kilometers the circumstances are an important part: cold fresh water, wind, waves.

License

The competitors need to have a FINA related license.

Limit

To participate in the swimming marathon the competitor must have results in at least a 10 kilometers competition.

Men:
2 hours and 30 minutes in open water

Women:
2 hours and 35 minutes in open water

Costs

Entryfee for participation in the IJsselmeer swimmingmarathon is € 300,-. The payment can be paid on: zwemmarathon, NL20INGB0007946482.

Coach

For each coach a boat will be available. The coach must be able to swim and to apply first aid

Coaching and feeding according to the FINA rules are allowed.
