Competitionday timeschedule
The planned schedule of the competition day:
08:00 : competitors are expected in Stavoren
08:30: briefing of the teams
09:45: presentation of the competitors
10:00: Start of the competition at the harbour head of Stavoren
Between briefing and presentation swimmers will meet their escortboat and skipper, which will be arranged by the organization.
Skippers will be informed in a seperate meeting.
Before presentation swimmers must be prepared (greased, swimsuit, ….) and equipment (feedingpole, swimsuit) must be controlled by the officials.
A little before 10 am the swimmers will enter their escortboat. They will be brought to the starting location, where they will be presented to the public.
On mark of the referee the swimmers will jump into the water and after a short time the startsignal will send them away for the race on the IJsselmeer.
Start at 10:00 am
At 10:00 am startsignal will sound and the swimmers will follow the course ship. The escortboats with coaches will follow after the swimmers and at the signal of the referee enter the field without hindering the swimmers.
Safety first!
Together with the juryboats, medicalboats and safety boats the escortboats with make a cordon around the swimmers. During the race coaches are permitted to feed the swimmer, but not to hinder the other swimmers or interfere in the race anyway.
Finish from 14:15 pm
Depending of the weather, waves, wind and temperature the finish in the harbour of Medemblik is expected from 14:15 pm.
After the finish the competitors will be welcomed in the former fish auction, where they can shower and have some drinks and foods.
One and a half hour after the finish of the winner the ceremony will take place at the same location. In between the swimmers must coorperate with press and interviews by the organization.
